The purpose of the Network is to build stronger links between
individuals and organisations, better meet your needs, and improve
the service Toni provides to HR professionals across Scotland.
Toni McAlindin, CCIPD, BA, LLM is a qualified barrister - specialising in labour law. In addition to being an employment law lawyer. She is a Companion of the CIPD. She lectures regularly on employment law issues at colleges, universities, to local authorities, and professional bodies. She is past Chair of both the CIPD Scottish Partnership and the Women's Legal Defence Fund Scotland. Toni is a former Member of CIPD’s national committees on Employment Relations and Equal Opportunities, and a current member of its Employment Relations Panel. She is a part-time lawyer with the Citizens Advice Bureau. In addition she is a member of the CBI Employment policy Panel, an Employment Tribunal Member, an Adviser to an NHS Trust, a Board Member of the Employment Research Institute at Napier University, a member of the Employment Forum (large private sector organisations) and an Associate of three consultancies. She is a member of the Court of Stirling University and for 10 years was a member of the board of a Further Education College. She is part of Business for Barnardos.
Toni has practical experience of the Health Service, the Civil Service, the Wellcome Foundation, as well as Scottish & Newcastle plc. She has clients in the private and public sector covering all sectors across the UK and has worked with organisations to prepare policies on all areas of personnel. She also has had experience in all aspects of managing performance, attendance, discipline and grievances and in negotiating terms and conditions.
Toni was the winner of the “Outstanding Contribution to Scottish HR Award” in the Hr NETWORK (SCOTLAND) National Awards 2007.
